Mindset is Simpler Than You Think
--
Mindset is a hot topic among entrepreneurs, leaders, and Bezos aspirants; and it has been since the dawn of the self-help industry.
People want to know how to unlock a certain mindset that will set them up for success. They buy books, and courses; They listen to Tony Robbins, Dean Graziosi, Gary Vee, and others talk about growth mindset and the law of attraction.
Some of it helps, but most of it doesn’t.
What’s worse is that these ideas often give us just enough to get started, but not enough to progress effectively. So, we end up spinning our wheels.
Here’s the thing:
In the pursuit of our goals, mindset is step one. Without it, we go nowhere. It is incredibly important. But, it is not the only that that will allow you to climb to summit the mountain.
Collectively, we have overcomplicated mindset and self-talk so much that internet coaches can make a killing by selling courses on it.
BUT… Mindset is shockingly simple.
You don’t need to buy any course that teaches a specific framework to finally get your mind right in order to pursue your goals.
In fact, you don’t need to buy anything…
Why?
Partly because all of the info that they are selling you is probably available through YouTube…
But also because the only mindset you need to achieve your goals is this one:
You will do Whatever it takes (barring anything unethical or illegal) to achieve your goals.
That’s it. Whatever it takes covers the gambit.
You need to repeat that to yourself. Use intrapersonal communication and talk to yourself. Tell yourself that you can achieve what you want to achieve. Give yourself permission.
After you give yourself permission, make whatever it takes your mantra. Say it when you wake up, at every meal, when you are working on your goal, and when you go to bed.
Continuously reinforce that idea until it becomes second nature to believe in yourself and err on the side of positivity.
If any of us are to achieve our wildest goals in life, we need to believe in ourselves.
So, what is the goal you want to achieve? Who do you want to be?
Once you have it, write it down. Tell yourself that you will do whatever it takes to complete your goal. Schedule times to work on that goal, schedule times to reinforce your mindset.
Then get to work.
